forgotten

forgotten

It seems criminal that this building was once so beautiful and now has been forgotten and left to fall apart, alone, and unloved.

The old Stiles Courthouse was built in 1911 of native stone quarried from a hillside a half mile from the site and hauled by mule drawn wagons. Once the pride of the county it was abandoned when the county seat moved in 1925 and now sits alone and continues to deteriorate in Regan County, TX. I have been deeply intrigued by this building and researched my heart out on it's history. If I only had the money I would restore it and live there.

If you like this please vote for it to be in JPG Magazine here! THANK YOU!

Oh, sorry, you asked for what camera I used for the moon shots... Its the Fujifilm FinePix S9000. Its a full sized camera, with a manually controlled zoom lens, so that when it takes videoclips, you CAN do zooms when its doing it! I didn't try taking videos but I was told its amazingly clear and fluid. But its just way too bulky to my taste, not to mention its also kinda heavy. I like it because it takes good and really fine quality pics, with its 10.7x optical zoom lense at 9 megapixels ! Nice but I'm sticking with my Kodak and HP for now.

It's obvious that your "consumer grade" camera has not slowed you down. This is a great pic and a great subject.
